Citizens Inn

Everyone deserves safety, dignity and hope to have shelter from the weather, heal when they are sick, and share meals in a place where they can grow and flourish as part of a community. For 34 years, Citizens Inn, Inc., now merged with Haven from Hunger, has worked toward ending homelessness and hunger across the North Shore. Our mission calls us to support everyone with dignity and respect, as they live in our emergency shelter, Citizens Inn Between; our sober living transitional housing shelter, Citizens Inn Transition; our affordable housing units, Citizens Inn Homes; or join us for meals as part of our Citizens Inn Haven from Hunger program.

Haven from Hunger

Families and individuals who struggle to put food on the table turn to Haven from Hunger for help. Our hunger-relief programs include a food pantry, community dinners, and summer meals for low-income children. We serve residents of Peabody, Salem, and Lynnfield.

North Shore Community Development Coalition

North Shore CDC invests strategically in real estate, in community and civic engagement and in quality, neighborhood-based programming that brings opportunity to low-income residents. Together, our neighborhood revitalization model has transformed long-neglected communities into safe, vibrant neighborhoods in Salem, Beverly, and Peabody.

Northeast Arc, Inc.

Northeast Arc's Peabody-based programs include the ArcWorks Community Art Center at 22 Foster Street and several residences. The goal of NeArc is to ensure that children and adults with disabilities are able to live, work, engage in civic life and play in the community. We work toward that goal by providing programs and services through our Residential, Day Service, Family Support and Administrative Divisions. Services include early intervention, a day care and preschool, advocacy, school to work transition services, vocational training, job placement, day habilitation, autism support, recreational programs, an art program, family support, personal care assistance and residential homes for our neighbors with disabilities. At Northeast Arc we help people live their best possible lives from birth to end-of-life.

Peabody Institute Library Foundation

The Peabody Institute Library Foundation supports free public programming, services and spaces at the Peabody Institute Library. These include STEAM learning support in the Library's Makerspace, free concerts, art instruction, lectures, concerts, and other library activities that are provided free to the public.

Progeria Research Foundation

Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome ("Progeria", or "HGPS") is a rare, fatal genetic condition characterized by an appearance of accelerated aging in children. Its name is derived from the Greek and means "prematurely old." Although they are born looking healthy, children with Progeria begin to display many characteristics of accelerated aging within the first two years of life.

Torigian YMCA

The Torigian YMCA is a staple in the Peabody community. Serving 11,000 members each year in programs focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility, the YMCA is a partner with the community in fighting obesity, supporting education and family advocacy. This YMCA never turns away anyone for "inability to pay". In fact, in 2012, the Torigian YMCA provided over $300,000 in financial aid.
