Rooted in the belief that the residents of Del Paso Heights have the power to create economic change within their community, the Mutual Assistance Network provides opportunities for economic and social growth. Using the Firehouse and Johnston Community Centers as the hubs, 21 different activities run from these centers. Activities including parent education, cooking and nutrition classes, fitness classes, and high quality youth programs.
Our innovative methods of social engagement, education and community development touches over 10,000 individuals yearly and the results have been dramatic.
⢠Crime in Del Paso Heights has been reduced by 52% since 2005 (Sacbee Crimemapper).
⢠In the North Sacramento area, homicides caused by child abuse and neglect, when comparing 1990-1999 with 2000-2009, decreased over 85% (Sacramento County 20 Year Child Death Review Team Report).
⢠Over the last five years 97% of the children participating in the Mutual Assistance NetworkâÂÂs after-school and enrichment programs have advanced in grade level or graduated.
Our Mission
The Mutual Assistance Network is a community development corporation that utilizes the skills and talents of the residents of the Del Paso Heights neighborhood to achieve the following: to expand commercial, financial and employment opportunities; to improve social conditions; to stimulate and build self-help and mutual assistance programs.
