Every two minutes in the United States someone dies from sudden cardiac arrest. ThatâÃÂÃÂs more than breast cancer, lung cancer and HIV/Aids combined. Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association (SCAA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting solutions to prevent sudden cardiac death.
Our Mission
Mission: To prevent loss of life from Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
Chapter Goals:
Awareness and Education - The East Valley-Phoenix Chapter is working locally to raise awareness and prevention of sudden cardiac arrest by increasing public access to defibrillators in schools, health clubs, and other venues, and encouraging personal health promotion including diet and exercise education.
Advocacy and Outreach - The East Valley-Phoenix Chapter is collaborating with local hospitals, physicians, academic centers and industry to spearhead local and state advocacy efforts, participating in valuable community service programs, and make a difference by helping to save lives.
This chapter is working hard to raise money to purchase automated external defibrillators (AED) for schools, churches, other public access areas; educate citizens and to raise awareness of this critical health concern.
