Formed in 1966, AZCEND formerly Chandler Christian Community Center is a non-sectarian, nonprofit agency that provides for basic needs and empowers people and communities to help themselves through the Chandler Food Bank, Family Resource Center, and Chandler/Gilbert Community Action and Senior Nutrition programs.

Activity Volunteers for Seniors
Our Activity Specialist needs volunteers who are willing to help with special events decorating, serving snacks/punch, cleaning up etc. There are also opportunities to a host an activity, set up/tearing down tables and chairs for classes, clubs and other activities. We are also open to suggestions; if you have an idea for a new activity or specialize in a particular area please bring it to our attention we may be able to schedule something special. Volunteers are needed to bag bread, chop vegetables, cup fruit, wash dishes, wipe down counters, clear tables and to fill salt and pepper shakers. Different shifts are available M-F from 6 am – 2 pm. Our HDM program provides meals to homebound elderly and disabled participants. We need volunteers to help deliver meals M-F from 9:30 am -12:00 pm and 11:30 am – 2:00 pm. Whether you’re available once a month, once a week, or on an emergency basis your help is appreciated. Volunteers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed for mileage.
