We are the Gilbert Roadrunners a unified Special Olympics team that has been given the opportunity to to compete in the 2016 Brazil Soccer Games. We will be involved in team building events and competition. These types of sporting events take place in countries all over the world every year and help to highlight the athletic ability of these athletes in Olympic-type events. Events like these help to create an awareness that leads to increased acceptance and inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities throughout the world.

The level of competition unfortunately comes with an expense. Athletes and coaches are responsible for raising $1000 each to cover the cost of travel, hotels, uniforms, equipment and other costs associated with putting on this type of event. It is for this reason we are seeking financial support from you to help support the Gilbert Roadrunners as they go to Brazil as ambassadors for both Special Olympics and Gilbert, Arizona. The total cost to support the entire team would be $35,000. We can provide a tax donation form for your tax records.
