Who Are We?
Nutrition for Learning has been a registered charitable organization since 1997. We support community based nutrition programs committed to improving the learning capacity, health and well being of children and youth in Waterloo Region. Research has proven that students coming to school hungry do not perform well in the classroom, have difficulty concentrating, display behavioral problems, are less alert and are often lethargic. Our programs impact the physical, cognitive, behavioral and academic needs of children and youth in Waterloo Region.
Nutrition for Learning mission is to enhance the ability of students to learn by ensuring that they attend school well nourished.

We facilitate 142 student nutrition programs across Waterloo Region. We provide nutritious breakfast, snacks, and/or lunches to students who would otherwise not have proper nutrition to sustain them for the school day.
We have various roles that volunteers could fill including menu planning, grocery shopping, food preparation, food service, nutritional mentoring, bookkeeping, program planning, public speaking and special event assistance. We have programs all across Cambridge that could use volunteers. Contact Debbie Moxam at 519-624-5744 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
