Since 1996, WOW! Children's Museum has served more than 750,000 children and families from throughout Colorado with quality, creative educational exhibits, programs and special events. We are located in an 8,000 square foot facility in Lafayette, CO, in Boulder County. Our focus is to promote science, art, culture, music, practical life role-playing, and the dramatic arts for children ages 15 months to 11 years. Exhibits and programs are developed with public school elementary educator assistance so that we can fill gaps in science, art and culture via field trips and school outreach programs. WOW! is a popular choice for school field trips, serving 3,237 students from 78 different schools in 2012. WOW! is the only children’s museum in Boulder or Broomfield Counties and serves 56,000 children and their families annually through museum visits, outreach science classes and community festivals. Our attendance has remained strong as awareness of our services has expanded throughout the community. Our Museum is recognized throughout Colorado as a unique establishment that caters to young families' concerns and desires: Child Magazine ranked WOW! as one of the top 50 best children’s museum in the country; the Boulder County Business Report annually ranks WOW! as a top ten cultural organization in Boulder and Broomfield Counties; for the past several years, Channel 7 has nominated WOW! as one of the best museums in Colorado; and for the past six years Kids Pages has surveyed the community and ranked WOW! as one of the top three best places in Colorado to take young children.
