Colorado Conservatory of Dance

Colorado Conservatory of Dance (formerly the School of Ballet Nouveau Colorado) is the state’s premiere pre-professional and educational dance training center. Founded in 1992, CCD has grown to include youth programs, a robust adult program, extensive outreach programs throughout the Denver-Boulder metro area, and mutually supportive relationships with local professional dance companies. In 2001 the school created the critically acclaimed Ballet Nouveau Colorado professional company, which in 2013 became the independent dance company Wonderbound. Under the direction of Julia Wilkinson Manley since 2002, CCD has received repeated local and national accolades for the exceptional quality of its programs. CCD commits itself to offering an extraordinary quality of dance education. With 400 students and 14,000+ outreach participants per year, the organization is a powerful force for expanding the reach of high quality dance education in the Front Range community. The school holds an impeccable reputation for its nurturing and professional environment for students from pre-school through adult. Its teaching syllabus combines methodical rigor, diverse techniques, and a focus in health and wellness, and many of its students go on to outstanding professional careers in dance. CCD offers exciting and enriching experiences for people of any age, ability, experience level, aspiration, or socio-economic status. The school serves not only youth and aspiring professionals, but also offers recreational classes for children and adults, an Adaptive Dance program for students of all physical and cognitive ability levels, health counseling and Pilates at its Wellness Center, and much more. CCD’s scholarship program annually gives almost $80,000 in tuition assistance and therefore ensures that anyone with the desire to dance can do so at CCD.

Mental Health Partners

Mental Health Partners began in 1962 as a clinic, received non-profit status in 1964, and was federally designated as a comprehensive community mental health center in 1971. Since then, we have expanded to meet the growing needs of Boulder and Broomfield counties with locations in Boulder, Broomfield and Longmont. We are the only agency in Boulder and Broomfield counties that provides comprehensive psychiatric services to county residents regardless of their ability to pay. People served by Mental Health Partners generally do not have access to services in the private sector because they cannot afford to pay the significant fees, and most do not have insurance. Mental Health Partners has 24 hour emergency psychiatric services and outpatient offices for infants, children, adolescents, adults, and families. Many programs and services are available including school-based programs, substance abuse treatment, rape crisis counseling, advocacy, and education. Mental Health Partners offers bilingual/bicultural services and an in-house pharmacy. It is estimated, that of the 360,000 residents of Boulder and Broomfield counties, over 60,000 individuals suffer with a form of mental illness. This number is only compounded when family, friends, and co-workers are affected by the disabling conditions of a person who is struggling with a mental illness. Annually, Mental Health Partners serves over 18,000 individuals and our Emergency Psychiatric Services Team responds to 10,000 calls. We serve more women than men and thirty-six percent of our clients are multicultural.
